dc.description
This includes high spatial resolution shape files of a wetland-peatland classification derived using multi-spectral WorldView-2 and lidar data of wetland class and peatland class and form for an area north of Utikuma Lake, Alberta Canada. The classification is based on a decision-tree classifier (Chasmer et al. 2016) with greater than 80% accuracy. Wetlands were identified in the original classification and separated into wetland class (bog, fen, marsh, swamp) and form (for peatlands only: open, shrub, treed). Peatland form was determined based on the density of tree/shrub data from lidar, topographic variability, and shape.
A ecotonal classification (raster files) are also included as derived in Jones et al. (2024) based on lidar data.
